Android In Desktop Phones From MSI

If an idea worked once it’ll certainly work again. While I’ve been eagerly awaiting news from Cloud Telecomputing about their Android based business desk phone it appears that MSI had a similar idea. Engadget’s coverage of the CeBit show in Germany includes a photo gallery and video walk-through of MSI’s MS-9A31.

Described as a “Hybrid land-line and VoIP phone” it certainly has an attractive feature set:

  • Runs Android
  • Large color LCD display
  • DECT cordless capability
  • Video calling
  • Instant messaging
  • two LAN ports
  • USB port
  • Memory card reader

Color me interested! I’m hopeful that someone will offer something like this in North America, and preferably something that’s not tied to unreasonable contract terms like Verizon’s HUB from a year ago.

Here’s the video from NewGadgets.de.
