Dave Michels: Whole House Audio Via The Squeezebox Duet

squeezebox-touchWe do love our Squeezeboxen. In fact, we love ’em enough that we have four of the little beasties scattered around here. They are at the core of our strategy for “whole house audio.”

The strategy is simple, nothing fancy or even built-in. In each room where we like to listen to music or internet radio we have a Squeezebox3 and a pair of self-powered monitor speakers. When we entertain a crowd, we sync up the whole shebang so that we have music throughout the property but independent control of volume in each room.

Our next SB3 will service probably the yard outside, and it will likely be the newly announced Squeezebox Touch. (Very original name guys!)

Dave Michel’s of Pin Drop Soup has penned a post about his recent experience with the newer Logitech Squeezebox Duet. He appears to like it, which is not at all surprising. I hope that he can find some novel way to integrate it into his home automation. That’d give us a new model to follow.

Dave’s always a great read, and he sure gets around. He blogs for CMP over at No Jitter, The Examiner and his own Pin Drop Soup on top of running his business. I wonder where he finds the time? He’s just one of the interesting folks I hope to meet next week at Astricon.
